The continuous of development and improvement at the Specialty Hospital led to achieve the platinum level of the "Baby Friendly Hospital Certificate" from the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) and by the UNICEF for second time, the Specialty Hospital has been accredited as the first private hospital to achieved the "Baby Friendly Hospital Certificate" since 2019.
The Baby Friendly Hospital initiative is concerned with applying and maintaining the ten steps of successful breastfeeding, which provides a supportive path that enables mothers to breastfeed naturally unless there is any medical need by increasing mothers’ awareness about breastfeeding benefits for both the mother and the baby’s health status, fostering the relationship between them, in addition to reduction of disease and death rates among children. The surveyors were expressed by the high quality, professionality and distinctive response of the staff to apply the required standards, which qualified the hospital to obtain the platinum.
The Specialty Hospital is the first private hospital to provide a special breastfeeding room for the hospital’s visitors to encourage them to breastfeed in a dedicated, safe, comfortable and clean place with full privacy for the mothers and their babies.
